Fuck The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

If you haven’t noticed, I fucking love music. Any genre, any time of day. Silence is a very rare thing in my life, mainly because in any situation that I have the ability to do so, I am either blasting music on my speakers or through my headphones

The reason for saying this is because earlier this week, The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame released their list of inductees for 2023. They are as follows: Willie Nelson, Kate Bush, Rage Against The Machine, Missy Elliot, Cheryl Crow, George Michael, and The Spinners

I love all of those artists, and I think they deserve to be in the Hall (maybe not Missy Elliot, but I’ll talk about that later). But, and as they always do, the glaring omissions that the committee makes YEAR AFTER YEAR drives me so insane that I want to bash my own head in with a hammer

Please, for the love of fucking God, explain to me how Iron Maiden and Soundgarden are not in The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame? It’s a trick question, because you can’t. You cannot rationalize the fact that those 2 giants still are not rightfully in there

I’ll start with Iron Maiden. Formed in 1975, Iron Maiden is, to me, one of the most influential heavy metal bands to ever exist. They completely revolutionized guitar riffs and lyrical content when it came to the metal genre, and the amount of bands that wouldn’t exist if not for them is crazy to think about. Despite all of this, the douchebags that vote for worthy bands to induct into The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame have been disrespecting them for decades now. I know it’s their most popular song, but COME ON

Which now brings me to Soundgarden. Formed in 1984 and led by the legendary Chris Cornell, Soundgarden was one of the major players in Seattle’s groundbreaking grunge scene of the late 80s and early 90s, and just in the world of alternative rock in general. Chris Cornell has arguably one of the best (or at the very least recognizable) voices in alternative rock, but apparently that isn’t worthy enough for the powers that be at The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. You combine that with the fact Chris Cornell tragically took his own life in 2017, and it becomes an even bigger kick in the balls

My main problem with these bands not being in there is the bands that ARE in there. It’s just like pro sports hall of fames. Look, I love Missy Elliot, but are we really supposed to pretend she is more important to rock music than Iron Maiden and Soundgarden? Get the fuck outta here! It is such complete and utter insanity that I can barely put it into words

To wrap things up, I’ll say this: I wish I could say I’m surprised, but the clowns that run the show at The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame have been showing their true colors for years now. They don’t know shit about music, and its a disgrace. If there’s a God in Heaven, he will make the smart decision of coming down and putting me in charge through Divine Intervention
