“Take It Off” is a song by pop sensation Ke$ha, and it was the 4th single from her debut album, Animal, which was released in 2010
A lot of people forget how dominant (and hot) Ke$ha was when she first came out, but she absolutely ran the radio at one point. In 09-10, she had 3 Number 1 Hits (Tik Tok, We R Who We R, and Timber), and her album, Animal, debuted at Number 1 in multiple countries. Plus, Ke$ha came out right around the time I first started partying, so I get a lot of good nostalgia from hearing her songs about drinking your face off, doing drugs, and having unprotected sex with strangers. I mean, who doesn’t love that?
It really sucks how her story came to an end (so far, at least). She got into a major dispute with her label and producer, including allegations of sexual assault by the latter, and as a result, sort of left the music scene altogether. Still, after all these years, I have high hopes she’ll be back some day with more jams
