“Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” is the song that really introduced me to Deadmau5, and I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that. The song had a lot of mainstream success when it came out, and in a lot of ways, popularized EDM a great deal in The United States. Plus, it still remains a pretty popular song choice at sporting events, particularly hockey games, for whatever reason

Additionally, what a power move by Deadmau5 to remix his own song on the same album. The whole point of a remix is that it’s usually somebody else’s version of a song, but Deadmau5 wasn’t about to sit back and let a bunch of shitty SoundCloud DJs fuck up his song, so he took matters into his own hands and made such a good remix that it isn’t even worth trying to outdo it

Honestly, I might like “Moar Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” better than the original, but for a certain reason. There’s just something about the remix that gets me fired up, and it’s a staple on my working out playlist; A playlist I use bi-monthly during my rare trip to the gym when I lie to myself and say that I’m gonna get back into shape. When it comes to exercising, I’m so full of shit that my skin is turning brown, but making that playlist was enough of a workout in itself, so thanks for helping me out and being my personal trainer, Deadmau5

I’m not an EDM connoisseur by any means, but I think Deadmau5 is probably the most important producer over all. Similar to Skrillex, he brought it into the mainstream with some absolute bangers in the mid to late 2000s, and he has made so much fucking music that it would make your head spin if you look at his discography. Plus, he seems like a really cool dude that’s always stirring the pot online, and I respect nothing more than a good troll job

PS: Quick little funny story from college. College seems to be a time when people get really into EDM music for some reason, and my buddy’s freshman roommate was a great example of this. One day we’re hanging out, drinking with music on shuffle, and he goes, “Yeah, I’ve been listening to a lot of Dead-Mao-Five” lately. We tried telling him it’s pronounced Dead-Mouse, and he flat out refused to admit he was wrong and eventually stormed out of his own room. What a fucking idiot, but I respect him digging his heels in and not backing down.
