NFL Betting Results (WILDCARD WEEKEND)

Wildcard weekend came to an end a little under an hour ago with a devastating Bears loss. I know I usually wait until the day after, but since the games ended earlier than usual I figured I would do this blog quickly while watching the end of Jaws. Spoiler alert: My 4 game parlay didn’t hit. I also didn’t have a great week on Draft Kings either, because apparently Chris Carson and Jordan Howard both forgot how to run. Anyway, let’s take a look at the results of my wildcard weekend bets

SATURDAY

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-1.5) @ HOUSTON TEXANS (+1.5): COLTS -1.5 (UPDATED LINE IS NOW COLTS +1.5 IN VEGAS) FINAL SCORE 21-7 (WIN)

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-1.5) @ DALLAS COWBOYS (+1.5): SEAHAWKS -1.5 (UPDATED LINE IS NOW SEAHAWKS +2 IN VEGAS) FINAL SCORE 22-24 (WASH)

SUNDAY

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (+2.5) @ BALTIMORE RAVENS (-2.5): RAVENS -2.5 FINAL SCORE 23-17 (LOSS)

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (+6.5) @ CHICAGO BEARS (-6.5): BEARS -6.5 FINAL SCORE 16-15 (LOSS)

Saying I had a bad week would be an understatement. I was off to a good start on Saturday, when the Colts outplayed the Texans in every facet of the game. I don’t know if the Texans were out all night partying the day before or what, but it sure looked that way. Colts +1.5 might have been the easiest bet of all time. Then came the Seahawks/Cowboys game. I was at the bar watching it, and based on everybody’s reactions I was with a lot of people who also had money on the Seahawks. The Cowboys ended up winning, but thanks to a clutch end of the game drive and 2 point conversion, the Seahawks covered +2 and it was a wash. I have no idea why they didn’t do an onside kick at the end of the game, but that’s Pete Carroll for you. But then came today. My intuition about the Ravens dominating the Chargers was wrong, and I realized this right at kickoff. I guess that’s on me for trusting that fucking garbage franchise known as the Baltimore Ravens. Quick reminder that Ray Lewis killed a guy, just incase everybody forgot. And then came the final game, which ended about an hour ago. I was officially on the Bears bandwagon, so this one hurt the most. They deserved that game so much more than the Eagles, but because of a seemingly impossible end of the game field goal miss that somehow hit the upright and the crossbar, the Eagles defeated the Bears 16-15. Cody Parkey better go into hiding, and I’ll be genuinely surprised if he’s still on the roster next year. I wasn’t going to cover anyway, but I wanted to see the Eagles get knocked out and the Bears advance because fuck the Eagles and #BearDown. This brings my season betting record to 120-129-1 (Because of the wash). My post season betting record as now 1-2-1, so hopefully I have a better showing next week. Probably not, but hopefully.
