Shuffle Song Of The Day (8/27/18): “Waking The Demon” By Bullet For My Valentine

“Waking The Demon” is a song by the Welsh metal band Bullet For My Valentine from their 2008 album Scream Aim Fire. I’m not exactly a hopeless romantic but I feel like a bullet would be a bad gift to give to somebody that you like, but who am I to judge? Anyway, this song, and more specifically the music video, tell the story of what can happen when you push somebody far enough and essentially wake up a demon in that person. In this case the jock happens to be bullying a werewolf, which is just a classic case of bad luck. I guess the moral of the story is wait until there’s a full moon before you decide to start giving out wedgies.

LYRICS

Helpless, my eyes are bleeding from the fear that’s inside,

You sealed your demise when you took what was mine

Don’t try and stop me from avenging this world,

No voice to be heard

Waking the Demon,

Where’d ya run to?

Walking in shadows,

Watch the blood flow

There’s not much longer so don’t try and fight,

Your body’s weakening so walk to the light

All those painful times so alone so ashamed,

I’m not coming back there’s nothing to gain

Caution, there’s just no limits to the boundaries you push,

I’ve warned you but still you just fuck with my mind

There’s no escape from this rage that I feel,

Nothing is real

Waking the Demon,

Where’d ya run to

Walking in shadows,

Watch the blood flow

There’s not much longer so don’t try and fight,

Your body’s weakening so walk to the light

All those painful times so alone so ashamed,

I’m not coming back there’s nothing to gain

Breath for me,

Don’t wake me from this slumber

Stay with me,

Possession taking over

Possession taking over

Breath for me,

Don’t wake me from this slumber

Stay with me,

Possession taking over

Possession taking over

Waking the Demon
