Shuffle Song Of The Day (6/18/18): “Higher Love” By Steve Winwood

“Higher Love” is a song by English singer Steve Winwood from his 1986 album Back In The High Life. An international hit, this song actually won the Grammy Award for Record Of The Year In 1986. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise though, because this song is a fucking jam. No matter how advanced music technology gets in the future, 80’s pop music might never be dethroned. The simplicity and catchiness of a lot of these songs is too much to compete with. This song also makes me think of this Always Sunny scene, and I’ll never forgive Netflix for taking that show off.

Favorite Lyric(s)

Think about it, there must be higher love

Down in the heart or hidden in the stars above

Without it, life is a wasted time

Look inside your heart, I’ll look inside mine

Things look so bad everywhere

In this whole world, what is fair?

We walk blind and we try to see

Falling behind in what could be
