Shuffle Song Of The Day (6/01/18): “Through Glass” By Stone Sour

“Through Glass” is a song by Stone Sour from their 2006 album Come What(Ever) May. Stone Sour is a side project by Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor that takes on a bit of a softer sound compared to the usual Slipknot style. This allows Corey Taylor to show off how good of a singer and songwriter he really is because he doesn’t have to just scream and discuss maggots and whatnot like he does in Slipknot. I wish more singers would try out different styles like Corey does because I think it’s really interesting to hear what they would sound like in different areas of rock music, but I’ll take whatever I can get as long as the music is good.

Favorite Lyric(s)

I’m looking at you through the glass

Don’t know how much time has passed

Oh God, it feels like forever

But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home

Sitting all alone inside your head

How do you feel? That is the question

But I forget, you don’t expect an easy answer

And while you’re outside looking in

Describing what you see

Remember what you’re staring at is me

How much is real? So much to question

An epidemic of the mannequins

Contaminating everything

Before you tell yourself

It’s just a different scene

Remember it’s just different from what you’ve seen

And it’s the stars

The stars that shine for you

And it’s the stars

The stars that lie to you
