“December” is a song by the Welsh pop punk band Neck Deep from their 2014 album Life’s Not Out To Get You. An acoustic song about drinking away lost love, it’s a very relatable one for me (mainly the drinking part). As far as the band name goes, I’m assuming it’s describing being in neck deep water, which sucks balls. Neck deep water is just deep enough to have no clue what is going on around you, and I’ve talked in previous blogs how much it would suck to drown or get eaten by a shark. So Neck Deep: Love the band, hate the location. I prefer to drink beers on a floating raft thank you very much.
Added bonus version with Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus https://youtu.be/EQPcKe0LDdQ
Stumbled round the block a thousand times,You missed every call that I had tried
You never remember me,When you’re pulling off his jeans,Getting lost in the big city
I hope you get your ballroom floor, The perfect house with rose red doors,I’m the last thing you’d remember,It’s been a long lonely December,I wish I’d known that less is more,When I was passed out on the floor,That’s the last thing I remember, It’s been a long lonely December
I’m sure you’ll take his hand,I hope he’s better than I ever could’ve been,
Pain is never permanent, but tonight it’s killing me
