Shuffle Song Of The Day (4/29/18): “I Miss You” By Blink-182

“I Miss You” is a song by Blink-182 from their 2003 self titled album. One of their most popular songs, it also features the best example of Tom Delonge singing like a weirdo. He’s well known for adding strange pronunciations to words, but none crazier than in this song. In the chorus, he literally says “Yed” instead of “Head”. So fucking ridiculous, and I wonder if the aliens he claims abducted him are why he pronounces it that way. The music video also looks like some kinda Tim Burton movie, which is pretty cool, and I really dig the retro horror vibe it gives off. Blink-182 is one of the best rock trios of all time, and I appreciate them for playing a huge part of mine and every teenagers lives for the last 20 years.

Hello there,

The angel from my nightmare,

The shadow in the background of the morgue,

The unsuspecting victim,

Of darkness in the valley,

We can live like Jack and Sally if we want,

Where you can always find me,

And we’ll have Halloween on Christmas,

And in the night we’ll wish this never ends

Where are you?,

And I’m so sorry,

I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight,

I need somebody and always.

This sick strange darkness.

Comes creeping on so haunting every time.

And as I stared I counted,

The Webs from all the spiders,

Catching things and eating their insides,

Like indecision to call you,

And hear your voice of treason,

Will you come home and stop the pain tonight,

Stop this pain tonight

Don’t waste your time on me,

You’re already the voice inside my head,

I miss you, I miss you
