“Somebody’s Watching Me” is a song by Rockwell from his 1984 album of the same name. An international hit, this song continues to be a Halloween party favorite 34 years later. It also features an extremely recognizable and sampled synthesizer beat, and Michael Jackson singing the chorus. The music video for this song is pretty cool too, and alongside Thriller, used to scare the crap out of me when I was a little kid. Whenever I get the weird feeling that somebody’s watching me, it’s usually just because I’m high as fuck. This music video is basically what I look like when I get violently high and start bugging out inside my own house, so maybe that’s why I relate to it so much.
I’m just an average man, with an average life,
I work from nine to five; hey hell, I pay the price,
All I want is to be left alone in my average home,
But why do I always feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone?
When I come home at night,
I bolt the door real tight,
People call me on the phone I’m trying to avoid,
Well, can the people on T.V. see me or am I just paranoid?
When I’m in the shower,
I’m afraid to wash my hair,
‘Cause I might open my eyes and find someone standing there,
People say I’m crazy, just a little touched,
But maybe showers remind me of
“Psycho” too much
