Shuffle Song Of The Day (4/7/18): “Love Song” By The Cure

“Love Song” is a song by the British rock band The Cure from their 1989 album Disintegration. Now despite not being a dad on his second marriage or a goth teenager from 1985, I fucking love The Cure. They started out as a punk band that attracted depressed teenagers, but lead singer Robert Smith sought to change their image. The Cure then found the perfect way to balance punk/gothic rock with great synthesizer work, and they became one of the stand out new wave acts of 70’s and 80’s. Speaking of Robert Smith, he looks like absolute shit these days.644870cf127c52ceec3bf455a63a0093.jpg
Seriously, is that Robert Smith or the neighborhood crazy cat lady that calls the cops when she catches kids in her yard? I honestly can’t tell. Jesus Christ man I know the makeup was cool back in the 80’s, but you might wanna cut back on it seeing as you’re 59 now. Dude looks like a dead woman that just got her makeup done at the funeral home, but then resurrected to go complain about expired coupons at the local supermarket. Better yet, the guy kinda looks like the creepy veil lady from the Insidious movies

Not a very good look to have when you’re approaching 60, but he’s rich as fuck so I guess he’s getting the last laugh. I’m not gonna lie to myself and act like I wouldn’t dress like a dead drag queen for millions of dollars, and if you say that you wouldn’t, you’re the weirdo not me.

Whenever I’m alone with you,
You make me feel like I am home again,
Whenever I’m alone with you,
You make me feel like I am whole again
Whenever I’m alone with you,
You make me feel like I am young again,
Whenever I’m alone with you,
You make me feel like I am fun again,
However far away,
I will always love you,
However long I stay,
I will always love you,
Whatever words I say,
I will always love you,
I will always love you
Whenever I’m alone with you,
You make me feel like I am free again,
Whenever I’m alone with you,
You make me feel like I am clean again
