Shuffle Song Of The Day (4/5/18): “Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance) By Silversun Pickups

“Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance)” is a song by LA rock band Silversun Pickups from their 2015 album Better Nature. I have no idea what a silver sun is, or how you would go about picking one up, but its a cool name nonetheless. Or maybe the name is referring to a silvered colored pickup truck, but who knows. Maybe I’ll write them an email to get to the bottom of this. Anyway, this band has been around for years and is good for a few hit songs every couple years. Their first breakthrough hit song/album “Lazy Eye” back in 2006 is very good, and the song got played no less than 5 times day on every alternative rock station. A few years later, they came back with the synthesizer driven song “panic Switch” in 2009. Which brings us to the current state of the band, and a much more indie driven sound on their Better Nature album. Another shock is that the lead singer is not a girl by the way. There is a girl in the band, but that very high-pitched singing is not her. No idea how some dudes can sing like that and still have balls, but I’m not here to judge. I’m hoping that listening to this song when I’m trying to fall asleep tonight will fix my awful circadian rhythm, but probably not. Until I figure something else out, I guess I’ll just keep using my usual sleeping method (A six pack, pornhub sesh, and some melatonin).

Another night alone, a temporary dream,
I came in through your window sleepwalking,
Standing arm and arm, still so out of reach,
Well, there’s nowhere left to go,
Stay with me, stay with me

Footsteps on the floor, your body’s just a haze,
In a rhythm of your own, that’s out of phase,
Feel my body swoon to hear you say my name,
I’ve got nowhere left to dream,
So I’ll just stay awake, stay awake

At last, I’m found,
Circle around,
Last dance, no sound,
Nowhere left to go, stay with me
