Shuffle Song Of The Day (3/29/18): “Dreams” By Fleetwood Mac

“Dreams” is a song by Fleetwood Mac from their legendary 1977 album Rumours. At the risk of sounding like a basic white girl, I fucking love Fleetwood Mac. I think it’s a rule that when girls turn a certain age they have a biological need to sit down and listen to the Rumours album and tweet out lyrics from it, especially ones from this song. If I had a nickel for everytime I saw a girl post “players only love you when they’re playing” on twitter, facebook, AIM away message etc. I’d have enough money to travel back in time and bang Stevie Nicks. During this album she had just broken up with fellow bandmate Lindsey Buckingham, and the two were using this album to basically write lyrics that taunted eachother. Can we also talk about how weird their names are for a second. When you hear Stevie Nicks is dating Lindsey Buckingham you obviously think Stevie is the dude and Lindsay is the girl, but it’s the complete opposite. Just such a weird coincidence. I’ve always been a firm believer in the idea that you can’t trust a girl with a boys name or a boy with a girls name. If you meet some chick named Ryann or some dude named Lindsey, that’s a red flag and you should proceed with caution from there. Unless ofcourse that girl named Ryann is hot and drunk, in which case you should disregard my advice and proceed with speed. Got a little off topic there, but my main point is this song is a jam.

Favorite Lyric(s)

Now here you go again, you say you want your freedom,
Well who am I to keep you down?

It’s only right that you should play the way you feel it,
But listen carefully to the sound of your loneliness,
Like a heartbeat drives you mad,
In the stillness of remembering what you had,
And what you lost, and what you had, and what you lost
Thunder only happens when it’s raining,
Players only love you when they’re playing,
Say women they will come and they will go,
When the rain washes you clean, you’ll know, you’ll know
